The rumor was not started by the route, but by airport officials who claimed that some very important people boarded the flight.

All recent flights from Syria to Moscow on this flight ID have routed around Turkey so I don't thik it's anything suspicious, just the Syrians not trusting the Turks after the last intercept of one of their flights.
