  • Cant tick it if its already running hit stop and then see if it un-greys.

Fat fingers, and brain thinking of something else at the time. MaiN App. IE rt click it, send-to - create shortcut. It will make a shortcut to it, and then move this to your startup menu folder instead.

You may find ADSBScope 'works' but it is designed for more a free/portable airfield use. Just keep in mind if you want to start looking at the data, it's quite limited in its database (text files) and functions also, when PP uses a full function SQL/SQB dbase you can fiddle with and keep logs of things a bit better. (and auto update based on shared information)

Sing out when you want to get it going, it looks scary and as if its got lots of options, but they are simplistic in execution if you ignore most of them and focus on the 3 things required to get it working. The ADSB in New Zealand thread is a good start. Got 4 others going on it using the info and screenies in there.

    • G'Day again.
Re the shortcut... What you describe is exactly what I have tried already - and it is failing.
The only thing I can think of is a 'service' that is either not loading, or is in an incorrect state (i.e. Manual / Automatic / Disabled).
I have the icon in the Startup folder, pointing to the fr24feed.exe file in the C:\FR24Feeder folder (on the same drive).
NOTE: The notebook is running Win 7 STARTER. (It came with the PC)

Can you please confirm you actually have an Icon in YOUR startup Folder please?
And or locate somewhere else it might be starting from ? Thanks.

And thanks for the offer of getting PP going - much appreciated.

Separate Issue (but may be related):
Do you happen to know how to remotely reboot a Cisco Router?
The longer I leave it running, the slower it goes (approx -10% per day). Speedtest.Net tells me I'm getting approx 115Mbps just after a reboot. After a week or so, it can be as low as 10mbps.
I created a batch file to reboot the router, and a Scheduled Event in Windows to trigger the batch file every morning at 2am.
According to my Log, Windows executes the scheduled event, but the batch file is not run. (A similar issue to the first problem with the startup folder).

      Any ideas please ?
I'm either too old, or too stupid to see what's wrong :-(

      Thanks for your time.
      Regards, Greg.

      • Feed software is totally standalone. There's no related services or otherwise. Just the .exe and a key with the sharer hash information.

The only way I know to reboot your router is via CLI/Console. But you wont be able to automate that.

Only other way I can think of is force it to your registry to start. Copy the below into a notepad file and call it feeder.reg and import to registry

        Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]
        "FR24Feed"="C:\\fr24feeder\\fr24feed.exe"
        Or follow this http://www.addictivetips.com/windows...ystem-startup/

        • OK, No worries, I'll give it a try.

            • Your sharing key is sent by email and also stored in the fr24feed.key file which you can open with any text editor.

The feeder software has a sharing key reminder option too.

                • Got a screenshot? Cant insert into database sounds more like a PP/BS message?

Other than that are you running the app from your desktop or other location rather than selecting 'run' when clicking the online link. As this will copy it to a temp folder and possibly have undesirable results when trying to write the config file

                          • Can someone tell me if the FR24feed software on Windows 7 64-bit should be run with Administrator privileges?

I am having problems with the software feeding (uploading) data in a timely manner. Sometimes my data is displayed on the website, sometimes not. Something is retarding the data between my machine and the website. I have looked into QoS, Port Forwarding, Firewall rules etc. What I notice is that every couple of hours, the amount of data uploaded as indicated on the program resets itself, say from 1MB back to zero. At the same time the source (outgoing) port changes and the problems begin. Any help greatly appreciated.

Do you have any antivirus software running in the background? I think you have the same problem that I have had. In my case it was avast that caused it.

I have MS Security Essentials running in the background. I've tried disabling it, but I don't see any clear cause and effect.
