  • MLAT not enabled

I've installed my self built ADB-S receiver. IT started tracking aircraft and FR24 feeder is linked.
But MLAT is not running as seen below.

    root@pi-star(rw):~# fr24feed-status
    FR24 Feeder/Decoder Process: running.
    FR24 Stats Timestamp: 2023-06-16 23:35:45.
    FR24 Link: connected [UDP].
    FR24 Radar: T-LTFJ44.
    FR24 Tracked AC: 5.
    Receiver: connected (3997 MSGS/0 SYNC).
FR24 MLAT: not running ... failed!

I am running on a PI Zero W.
And settings say: "Participate in MLAT calculations (requires at least Raspberry Pi B+ or later)"

So should I disable MLAT ?
What do I lose if I disable MLAT ?

And, it has been about an hour since I'm feeding and my subscription plan is still "Basic"
    When does it upgrade ?

    Thanks

I don't know about account upgrades; I thought it was pretty fast but don't know if it was within an hour.

I am not using MLAT for FR24 because of I'm using it for another feeder. Around here, I don't think that there are very many non ADS-B enabled aircraft around, or at least ones that I can pick up. Maybe your area is different but I don't think that in my case, much is being lost by not enabling it. On the other feeder site it shows how many MLAT aircraft I pick up and it is a small fraction of total aircraft. Don't think I would worry about it too much.

thanks for the comments. Although I would be more happy with an expert answer explaining why MLAT is not enabled in my case.
