  • Hurricane Ian

I lived in Fort Myers for several years and have been following the hurricane and the relief/recovery efforts closely. When watching the area with FlightRadar I see some light planes, like a Cessna (this screenshot is not the best example, but the best I could find at the time) , with no stated affiliation to government or military, making back and forth passes over the highest impact areas. Do any of you know what they're doing? I would think the helicopters would be better suited for looking for survivors, and we're kind of past that now, so was thinking that maybe they're doing surveying of the area for the recovery effort. Any thoughts?

Either way, it's a very interesting region to watch right now. Lots of military and other helicopters as well as some fixed wing resources.

Probably doing damage assesment and maybe photography of the impacted area's ? That kind of work is often done by civilian companies
