  • SBS-1 via USB on W10, FR24 Feed error - authentication failed, please help

    Hi all,

    Any help gratefully received as I'm a bit stuck with this - I have tried googling plus reading through relevant looking threads in this forum, without success.

    I am trying to feed from my SBS1 connected to my W10 PC via USB.

    Basestation is working fine, as is PP but I cannot seem to figure out why I cannot get the fr24feed to work correctly - it was working fine in the previous version, which expired end of last month.

    During the initial config stage, I am not sure what I should be putting when prompted for RAW data feed, Basestation datafeed and SBS/Basestation RAW data feed - I have tried various combinations of yes/no but this may or may not be connected with the authentication errors, below. I was originally thrown by the option to MLAT, to which I was answering yes, then not understanding why DVB-T was the only feeder device.....I now put no to the MLAT question.

    Extract from log:-

    Paul I have the same Problem but Have a Radarcape with TCP connection.
    Must I define any port forwarding on my firewall? Or is this a bug in the latest version?
    I also have a new router, (TC7200) from my cable provider, which could make the issue.
    TH port 30003 or 20001 is connected in the status but the pipe is broken

      Firewall is between you and the internet. Unless you have a software one (or antivir package) configured so securely that you even need to define LAN rules and applications over WAN rules, then it won't make a difference and comes down to app output configuration

        This solved the problem - credit to Muazzam @ FR24 support....

        "I can help you with that issue. It happens when Basestation is running. Now we can solve this in two ways.

        A. If you don't need Basestation for anything else then shut it down and everything should start working.

        B. If you need to run Basestation then please do the following.

        1. Configure Basestation to connect to TCP rather than USB using the following details:
        Settings-> Hardware settings-> Network-> 127.0.0.1, port 20072
        2. Edit the fr24feed.ini and add the following line:
        mpx=“yes”
        3. Start FR24 software first so it connects to the SBS-1e over USB
        4. Start Basestation that will connect to FR24 software via TCP
        5. Make sure to have DATA SOURCE changed to Use Network."

        I used option B and now start the feed first, then connect to Basestation and I'm feeding fine, very stable and Basestation works perfectly.

        I hope this fixes other people's issues too.

        Cheers,

        Paul.

          In reply to Bumpy....

          If Basestation is working fine and you can see aircraft plotted and in the listing then you have not set up fr24feed correctly. The feed should connect directly to Basestation on port 30003, and you need to enable Basestation to connect to 20072 on fr24feed (set hardware settings in BS to 20072)

          I am not feeding fr24 anymore as I have had trouble with it crashing under Win10, but if you search for my postings you will see a long thread in which I have listed the settings required when I had it working.

          Good luck getting it all working.

          Jerry

            I posted a reply several days ago, which seems to have disappeared - it was awaiting moderation - if it was rejected, it would be nice to know why.

            Anyway, this was received from Muazzam at FR24 Support and did fix my issue - I now start FR24feed then Basestation.

            I can help you with that issue. It happens when Basestation is running. Now we can solve this in two ways.

            Hope this helps someone.

            Paul.
