  • 747SP ?

Visited the Boeing factory in Everett yesterday 31 juli, when we arrived aroung 1:00 PM there was a lot of planespotters with cameras and a 747SP ( I think) rolling down the runway. Have been trying to find any facts on what aircraft it was but cant find anything and would appreciate some help identifying the plane.

Have you checked this thread? There was 3 or 4 identical new 737's flown to Hawaii that day and a new 777 flew out of Everett for delivery. AFIK 747SP's are not in production anymore but it could have been a newer 747 or just a coincidence that you saw a 747 take off.

Assuming you went to Paine Field, I can't see anything about any 747SPs at KPAE at that time, but there were a few 747-8s noted just before the 31st. http://kpae.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/p...d-july-26.html

KPAE is used for a lot more than deliveries and new aircraft. For example, the Presidential VC-25s went there for paint/maintenance a few years ago.

Yes, I do realize that. And the airfield is probably full of "Plane Spotters" with cameras on a regular basis since that is where most of the new Boeing Aircraft do make their maiden flights. Without more info from the Original Poster, it's difficult to know what he saw that day.
