    I see yall have a new Roo.

    They reported it here, but made it appear it was to be on the 787. Not rolled out on a A330 _today_. Fail reporting there

    Qantas' new Dreamliner aircraft will feature new suites in business, new economy seats and a streamlined kangaroo on their tails.

      Lears acting as targets

      Often see two Lear Jets acting as Air Force targets off the NSW coast but rarely three. The origin of all three was the Amberley RAAF base near Ipswich.

                    Apparently there's currently an upper level trough over Queensland extending out and pushing across and into the Tasman. This might make short work of these 'Loons' up there. They'll likely soon be out over the Pacific and offering high speed internet connection to schools of fish.

                    Wonder how long they've been up and from whence they came? They're all scooting along at a fair clip- averaging about 35-40kts at 60-62,000ft. Interesting to watch.

                    This explanation of their purpose is likely found elsewhere but in case it can't be easily located and anyone is wondering I'll also post it here;

                    As well as the group over northern Queensland there's also one southwest of Darwin and two on roughly either border (west and east) of South Australia.

                    Regards,
                    Gregg

                        Link below to the very short flight around Melbourne last night by MAS128 after some loony claimed - falsely - to have brought a bomb on board.

                          No more Emirates SYD-AKL

                          Reports today that Emirates EK418/419 SYD - AKL will cease after 13th July to be replaced by a an additional Qantas A330 codeshare. These are interesting flights for radarspotters because the route is Dubai - Bangkok - Sydney - Auckland and different aircraft generally operate the inbound and outbound legs. The plane that operates EK418 from Sydney becomes EK435 back to Dubai via Brisbane while the one that arrived from Brisbane as EK434 leaves for Dubai via Sydney and Bangkok as EK419.

                          There was a theory around that Emirates only started the SYD - AKL service because it was cheaper to fly to NZ, picking up a bit of revenue on the way, than park all day at Sydney airport making nothing! Believe it if you like but there will certainly be a bit more parking space at Auckland soon. With the direct DBX - AKL flight now in place I wonder how much more life is left in the MEL - AKL and/or BNE - AKL daily A380s

                            They've even had to add more gates at akl to stop double stacking with all the SQs in too around same time.

                            It would be hard to roll our leg back to a 330 with them leaving service. Guess we could see the ge90s back if our leg comes short too

                              RAAF Poseidon P-8A

                              First one of these Orion replacements I've seen. In the screen shot it's going from from Edinburgh SA to Amberley Qld. No doubt this aircraft will be blocked pretty soon, probably not by the RAAF but by FR24.

                                Hi airnrail and others - I see F-YDVR Docker River is still operating but it doesn't appear in the shared stats listings. I was thinking it might be like F-YPTN2 which shows the USA flag ... anyone got any ideas ??
