    An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EDI performing flight EK-18 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was enroute at FL390 overhead Germany about 100nm southwest of Berlin, when the aircraft descended to FL280 and continued the flight to Dubai, where the airplane landed safely with one engine (GP7270) shut down about an hour behind schedule despite an on time departure.

    Listeners on frequency of Kuwait and Dubai reported, that the aircraft arrived in Dubai with one engine inoperative.

    Emirates Airlines said: "Emirates flight EK18, on 18th November, encountered a number two fuel tank pump failure enroute to Dubai. This had no impact on the safe operation of the flight, and the aircraft continued to Dubai, landing safely one hour behind schedule. The safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance and will not be compromised."

    Emirates Airlines later added, that the engine was not shut down.
