  • yes, i shared him the link for the request of the receiver. hopefully he will be approved. I myself is very much interested to feed data. i submitted my application but still in the process and am afraid i'll be denied. I am just about 5miles from KSAT Int. Airport. Tried my dongle with collinear and omni directional spider antenna and got some luck on many approach like about 200-300NM away.

Kurt, it looks like FR24 is using TNT instead of DHL nowadays. We will see if TNT will deliver without you having to pay Customs before they will release the package to the local forwarders that will handle the shipment from Manila to Naga.

The last shipment I received from a vendor that used TNT arrived in Manila on a Friday and was contacted by TNT the following Monday demanding the Customs payment plus P500 for a document Fee and a fee of P100 for storage before releasing it to 2GO. It seemed like extortion since the it was no fault of mine or the shipper that they didn't contact me when it arrived on the Friday.

I hope FR24 has vetted TNT in your case since your delivery is scheduled for next Wednesday.

Your consignment was already cleared from Customs. Please deposit the payment for PHP 1596.60 so we can arrange turnover of your consignment to our agent.

Below are the details of our bank account:

BANK OF THE PHIL. ISLAND –NAIA BRANCH
        ACCOUNT NO. 3351-2651-07
ACCOUNT NAME: TNT EXPRESS WORLDWIDE (PHILS.), INC.
        TOTAL AMOUNT: php 1596.60

Once deposited, please send the scanned copy of the deposit slip not later than 4:30PM so we can include it for dispatch.
        Appreciate your earliest feedback.

        Note:
Delivery takes two to three working days.

Kindly confirm if you have received my email. Thank you!

        Kind Regards,

Kurt, it should arrive today or tomorrow. The key word in all that information is DDP. All cost will be paid by FR24's consolidator.

For those receiving shipments from abroad if DDP is not mentioned in the air freight shipment, a buyer must shoulder all the local cost.

FR24 is monitoring this shipment collaborating with their consolidator to ensure a hassle free delivery. FR24 has shipped thousands of these receivers worldwide and has had few delivery problems.

I know you are excited like we are!

When you get the package, take an inventory of what is there. The coax between the antenna and the receiver could be white or black with a large connector on one end and a small one on the other end. The large connector is the antenna end and the small one connects to the receiver. A small coax is for the GPS-receiver connection. The sticky tape is for waterproofing the antenna connector and the GPS connector that are out in the weather. It is important that these two connections be sealed to prevent water from getting into the coax.

The ethernet cable between the receiver and the modem is a fixed length so if you need more get it at a local computer store that will cut any length ethernet cable you need and put ends on it. Ethernet cable is inexpensive so don't worry about the cost.

The receiver can be placed anywhere in a dry location but if it is inaccessible and it is necessary to use an extension cord for power, plug it into a receptacle that can be accessed easily.

Once all the cables are in place and the power is applied to the receiver it will configure itself and start calling home. There will be a slowly flashing LED on your modem indicating the port is active to the receiver. The server in the receiver will assign a local IP address to itself which will always be accessible from your browser. FR24's server will detect your new receiver and assign it a temporary identifier which it will use during the verification process. It will set your location from information from the receiver's GPS and check to make sure the coax to the antenna is not shorted. It will also start recording the aircraft being tracked by the receiver and verifying that the two IP addresses used by the FR24 servers is reachable by your internet connection.

Once the verification is complete, your receiver will be probably be assigned F-RPUN1 and aircraft being displayed on the FR24 map will be attributed by that radar identifier.

You will receive an email from FR24 giving you the particulars.

Do not turn off the modem or the power to the receiver at night. Leave them on 24 hours every day. If for some reason you are in an extended brownout or calamity, FR24 will send you a reminder that you are offline and your data is important. Only respond to that email if you can't bring your receiver back online.

Kurt, we will be watching the FR24 map for F-RPUN1 and celebrate with you!
