    Decoder has a 3-4 times quicker frame handling than the sbs1.
    The receiver is based on the miniADS-B receiver.
    Allows up to 4 receivers/antennas to be connected for special receiving requirements.

    Sorry to say, that currently all 10 decoders are allready sent out.
    Next serie with new design will be available January 2011.

        distances:
        microADS-B/USB, with software ADSBScope, around 250km
        SBS1eR, with Basestation, around 330km *)
        FPGA-Beast, with PlanePlotter, around 420km
        every time with the same mini-magnet antenna inhouse behind the window.
        because of the different software used I am unable to compare the number of messages received, neither the type of the DF-messages.
        The original SBS1-antenna is better than the original of the microADSB (around 50km more).
        *) I dont know why, but PP seems to see and update plane positions longer than Basestation.
        With SBS1eR, original antenna and PP the distance was around 380-400km. This test was done running Basestation and PP at the same time at the same SBS1eR..

            Be careful with PP. If you have the option Predict Positions checked, it will appear to receive continual positions beyond the received signal range.

            My guess is you have Predict Positions checked in Options->Chart->Options?

              thanks Mike, yes it was ticked. So that explains it a bit.
              But never mind. So at least it might have the same coverage for 1/3 of the price of a SBS1er. with the option to add additional receivers for special reasons.

                  Ulf, give me some time to check it.
                  the problem is, that the Beast is using PP and and for the SBS I use basestation. So it will not be possible to compare it 1 to 1 quickly in an easy way. At least it takes 1 to 5 minutes to switch over. give me some time.

                      I wasn't comparing the price and quality of the receivers. But it's difficult to run a side-by-side comparison unless everything is equal - antenna, timeouts etc.

                        hi,
                        the limit for omit a/c was 1 and the delete a/c was 5 with the unticked predict field.
                        For the last test I switched very quickly the antenna without giving perhaps the receiver enough time to pickup the messages.
                        The sensitivity seems to be at least the same or a bit better.

                            I have now received, assembled and tested the Beast.
