Landing gear scare forces Malaysia Airlines plane to make emergency landing

    http://www.todayonline.com/world/asi...rgency-landing

KUALA LUMPUR — A Malaysia Airlines passenger plane with 166 people on board landed safely at Kuala Lumpur airport early this morning (April 21) after being forced to abandon a flight to Bangalore because of problems with its landing gear, the airline said.

Defence Minister and Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said in a tweet: ‘All landed safely - going there now!!”

The website www.flightradar24.com, which displays live air traffic, showed Flight MH192 repeatedly circling Kuala Lumpur airport before the eventual landing.

Stockholm-based Flightradar24, which tracks air traffic in real time on its website, showed the plane repeatedly circling the airport before making the emergency landing, presumably to burn off fuel and lighten the plane's load before landing.

    Hi Birdie,

Did FR24 really "detect" this emergency or it just showed an aircraft going around in circles?
