  • Air Pacific denie's loss of revenue 2013

According to the recent aviation news from New Zealand and will be published in Australian aviation magazine April's issue. The Fiji Government announced that Fiji Airways
which was former name AIR PACIFIC has a revenue loss of just over 120 million from operating cost and according to the Fiji stock exchange where the share price fell from 6.85c FJ dollars
per share to just under 3.50c FJ dollars per share. This was caused by high pricing of aviation fuel, ticket sales were down and replacement aircraft of three A330 jets DQ-FJT DQ-FJU
DQ-FJV. Some flight sectors were also to blame as a result of passenger loadings on the NFFN/HKG run which now is operated by the A330'S. Also the airline faced stiff competition with other carriers competing from SYD/NFFN/KLAX route . Since the retirement of the two leased 744's DQ-FJK & DQ-FJL which are owned by SIA and had long term leases on them and were original Ansett Australia jet VH-ANA. Both 744's have being scrapped in the USA and the remaining leases have not being paid up in full to SIA. The CEO of Fiji Airways denies this or any losses which he state the Fiji Government has it's figures wrong. SIA has put Fiji Airways on notice to pay back the leases on the two 744's which is owed $7.5 million in total which the EO of Fiji Airways has denied. Sounds like the little Island airline is trying to avoid the media reports and the leasing arrangements owed to back to SIA. How will the cope with payments for leasing the three A330's which they stated and lied to the public they brought them out right
