    Today's fog

Possibly as a result of the fog screwing up Heathrow and Gatwick today, a privately owned A319, P4-RLA has been circling over my house for since around 09:25, almost 2 hours. Stuck at 3,000 ft he must be getting dizzy looking out of the window at the lovely Hampshire countryside. (It is clear and sunny here). Having flown in from Donetsk, the pilot must be wondering where he is going to run out of fuel!
As I write, he appears to have changed course and may be descending toward Farnborough. He must be very pleased, having done something like 20 circuits over here!

Flights cancelled as fog grounds more than 100 planes

Now, remind me why some want to build a replacement for Heathrow on an artificial island in the Thames estuary (like they have in Hong Kong).

I would not build an Airport in the Thames Estuary, especially after read these three articles.
