  • calling T-WBKK5

Just an attempt to establish contact with feeder T-WBKK5.

If you seen this post please can you reply here. Hopefully we can work out something to improve coverage at Tawau.

In Malay (I hope this is allowed, mods!):

User T-WBKK5, sila reply/balas message di sini! Saya mahu cari kamu. Tengok boleh atau tidak untuk membesarkan linkungan Tawau daripada feed kamu! Bah.

    North Borneo Radar,

    Duh, NOV-2013...

Feeds for Tawau will only active when I go back there, as it is hard to get 2 aircraft on the same times, that is why I use WBKK5 id to feed.

Recently I got the WBKW1, but again, it will only active when I go back there.

I think WBKA1 has a good coverage until Tawau. Just not sure what antenna he/she use.

p/s: sorry I just notice this thread

Hello, I forgotten about this already... Good to hear from you finally!

Ah right... you are in KK more or Tawau more?

Now there is more ads-b a/c to Tawau now, notably MAS, and sometimes MAS's AT76. So I think you can get a bit more. What is your set up like? i.e. receiver and antenna.

WBKA1 is using FR24's kit. Location is most important, providing the best view of the sky for the antenna with less obstruction, but that is quite hard sometimes. The coverage from WBKA is ok, better than none but will need some lower coverage for TWU area as TWU can be quite busy. There is a Malaysia radar thread too now.

Most likely at KK more than Tawau.

My place at Tawau is quite far from the airport, roughly 30km. The best signal I can get only when aircraft on departure RWY24, as it fly straight overhead my place.

for the setup, nothing fancy here. a cheap RTL 820 chip, with an ugly made collinear tied on fishing pole 6m height only. Mostly offline as your F&T-WBKK1&4 cover all WBKK areas. Kudos to you for providing such a great coverage for us at Sabah.

I thought WBKA1 at Semporna. Why it didn't use WBKS as ID. No wonder it can pick up signal once aircraft airborne from SDK.

Oh, yes, your are right. WBKA is indeed semporna. I didn't notice that at all... It was reported as F-WBKA1 Sandakan at the new feeder thread. Maybe... ID error. But base on observation it definitely covers lower level of Sandakan, eventhough range is not great.

I have KK2&4, KK1 belongs to someone else, no idea who.

I will see what I can do for then...

Maybe you can look at the best antenna thread to see what type of collinear to make to improve your reception. All the best.

Admin: You may wish to merge this to Malaysia Radar thread?
