  • Listening radio traffic on web

    Hi there

Ive been watching Flightradar24 a lot and have been thinking the whole time "I want to hear the radio traffic at the same time".

Is it possible via some other web service? Could this be something to implement in Flightradar24 some day?

Do you live in the UK ? if so it is technically illegal to listen to Aircraft transmissions, so this is why you cannot find any web feeds. If you live elsewhere there are web services to hear these transmissions, again where it is permitted, I often listen to NY Kennedy ATC for something different !

There's a couple of choices, http://www.liveatc.net/ or http://www.globaltuners.com/ are two that I use. Both are free but with Globaltuners you need to sign up and you get to operate the radios yourself (if available at the time). You can listen to ATC transmissions in the UK (and other countries) with a scanner but cant retransmit them so you wont find them on these sites.

There should be a Wikipedia article or Flightradar24 listing of Countries where it's legal/illegal to listen to radio and/or ADS-B traffic to make sure one isn't breaking the law, when using or providing some web feed.
