Hi friends
A little Warning about using it with a fixed stationery computer setup
as there is no grounding , static or thunder lightning could harm your Radar box
and then it gets expensive, with laptop and mobile its more OK, and a great solution

Hi
GP1090 - there is also center pin isolated or no? No "ESD"!

Antenna DC ground
Note: I have SBS-1e and I will give a little SMD coil behind the connector.
Answer: This will only help for "electrical rain" - same is with the diod. For lightning crashes even several hundred meters from you will destroy your receiver. Only a good DC grounded antenna will help, if you ground the antenna to earth the grounding resistance should be under 8-10 ohms. This CAN NOT be meassured with a normal ohm meter. Be carefull with the receivers now in the summertime.

Hi Sven
Was thinking of using an old surf-board glasfiber pylon as for "upon the roof" nearly 4 m
would this affect the grounding ??
Happy Easter to all !!

Hi, ira.
sorry, but
1. you have forgotten the image of your "nice" not usefull antenna with PL259.
2. you should make your HAM licence a second time (if you own one already). What you wrote doesn't make sense at all.
