  • 787 : testing and service restoration News

    This info is specific for 787s. Expect to see lots of test flights in May and the majority of commercial flights back in June.

    Thomson Airways : first flights will take place on 8 July on routes to Cancun and Florida.
    All Nippon Airways (ANA) : 1st test flight JA810A 28 April ,second test flight for 787 1 May , commercial services by June.
    Japan Airlines (JAL) : test flights early May, commercial services by June.
    Ethiopian Airlines : resumed flights 27 April from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
    LOT : resumption date 5 June to Chichago, battery modification to take plane in Ethiopia in May.
    Air India : All 6 787s should be back in commercial service by the end of May. First two planes will be ready on May 10.
    LAN Airlines : service restoration 01 JUNE.
    Quatar airways : Doha – Dubai restarts 2 May.
    United : 31 May on Houston – Denver

      JAL's fleet of seven 787s complete modifications , should resume operations on 1 June.
      All Nippon Airways (ANA) still has six 787s undergoing modifications. Works on 11 others have been completed,
      LAN Airlines service resumption, 1 month later , now 1 July.

        Japan and ANA seem to be flying test flights daily up and down the length of Japan.

          I saw Qatar Airways flight QR75/76, A7-BCC, at Heathrow yesterday. Watching the departure in the afternoon, I was amazed at the amount of flex in the wings. I am sure if they hit a bit of turbulence, the wing tips will clap against each other!
