I have one bad and one good news from NZ.
NZCH has sent me an e-mail and wrote that he had to move and his radar will be offline for about 3 months.
But yesterday I have sent our software to a feeder near to NZAA. I hope he will get online soon.

Christchurch first New Zealand airport to offer mobile website

NEW ZEALAND. In what is hailed as a first for New Zealand airports, Christchurch International Airport is now offering a mobile website for travellers.

“As an increasing number of travellers are using their mobile devices to access our website, we wanted to give them the best experience,” said Christchurch Airport Marketing Manager Jade Reeves.

    Hey guys,

It may not be perfect, or up in the time it takes Brent to get back. But just ordered a MicoADSB unit from Miro (assuming he still has some in stock after the last shipment) to help cover NZCH if theres holes later on down the track.

Will let you know of the results when it eventually turns up (assuming my money just didn't disappear to a black hole)

This could throw a spanner in the works:

Volcanic ash from the CordónCaulle volcano in Chile will reach New Zealand this weekend.

The Civil Aviation Authority says ash from the volcano, which began erupting on June 4, is expected to arrive in New Zealand airspace as early as Saturday evening.

Old bird steps in after flights cancelled

Before flights resumed, some passengers made alternative arrangements. A Christchurch-based DC3 aircraft called "Lady Jane" was pressed into service.
“We fly below 10,000 feet, it's got Preatt and Whitney engines, 14 cylinders per engine,” says Southern DC3’s Geoff Cambridge.

I've been based at the airport for the last 3 weeks doing IT support.
It was strange not seeing the early morning flights departing when approaching the airfield, Or hearing the roar of engines until very late yesterday (Thursday)

The skies are once again buzzing here with as many flights getting in/out as possible. The cloud has reportedly drifted off to the eastern coast of the Island, where there are few regular waypoints opposed to the trans-tasman constant stream of routes.

On the bright side, It is making for some beautiful sunset and sunrises. And making the earthquake cleanup job here in christchurch that much easier.

I also have my own micro ADS-B unit confirmed enroute from Bulgaria to me. I expect it within the next 2 weeks.

Is there any good freeware/GNU software available for plotting the data similar to acarsd is to acars, or do I need commercial SW like planespotter etc.
