  • Help us increase coverage!

Are you interested in helping us increase Flightradar24’s ADS-B coverage around the world? We are looking for suitable hosts for a large number of ADS-B receivers and antennas.

To make sure we get the most out of each ADS-B receiver we send out, we do have some requirements:
    • You are able to offer excellent reception conditions – i.e. the antenna will be placed outside on a roof, mast or similar and have 360 degree unobstructed view of the sky
    • You are able to keep the receiver online 24/7 feeding our servers via an uninterrupted internet connection
    • If things for some reason doesn’t work out – you are OK with sending the equipment back (at Flightradar24’s expense) at our request

If this sounds interesting to you, please apply here

The ADS-B receiver that we are sending out is a special Flightradar24 branded unit developed by makers of the Mode-S Beast. The Flightradar24 Box is compact (measuring just 100x60x30mm). It connects directly to your router/modem by Ethernet cable. It doesn't need a PC to run and we supply an external Mode-S antenna, all cables including a GPS antenna for data timing precision.

If you already own ADS-B receiver, it’s very easy to feed data to Flightradar24: http://www.flightradar24.com/software

Everybody that feeds data to Flightradar24 gets our apps for free as well as exclusive website features: http://www.flightradar24.com/premium/

Cool! What type of reciver hardware is this?

Just saying.. Oslo will get more coverage very soon! Antenna is mounted on top of house 6 km south of the airport with good visibility in all directions. You can slightly see parts of the runway from the house. Stream should be up and running stable within a cuouple of weeks. It's actually "beta-"sharing as we speak, but the antenna cable is broken, so the "antenna" at the moment is just a short wire laing on the floor indoor. Still getting some ground traffic, so I think the result will be very good once we get the antenna on the roof connected. Receiver is a Mode-S Beast MKII

It's a receiver built specially for FR24 and not yet available on the market. It's based on the Beast receiver together with a BeagleBone computer and GPS (for MLAT time synchronization).

Ok! So you are planning to support MLAT too?

Is FR24 interested on getting potential feeders only on locations mentioned above? Also, have you considered selling these modified gadgets in the near future?

                Thanks!

                    Thanks!
Examples of locations we are extra interested in include:

Off course everyone can apply. But we will prioritize the mentioned locations and good locations. The receiver is capable of handling MLAT so we will need to install them in all locations with ADS-B coverage today. We will be selecting best current ADS-B feeders and good locations to install MLAT receivers. Right now we have MLAT coverage in central Sweden and Poland.

The receiver will be sold to the public in February or March. No price yet.

                          Florianópolis, airport: SBFL Brazil

I live one mile from the airport hercilio Luz in Florianópolis. There is no coverage of aircraft landing or taking off and are picked up only 15 thousand feet. I wish I could participate in increasing radar coverage.

Hi, its possible Flightradar24 would need a better feed from SIN, as Inbound is covered down to about 2800 feet and Outbound is about 5-6000 feet, keep checking the Forum for a Reply from Mike. (It would more likely be in morning as we are all in bed for the next 6 hours in this part of the World. )
