  • AerLingus MAD

    I've realised recently that AerLingus flys MAD-IAD-MAD daily, why a Spanish country for an Irish airlines???!!

    Seen it a few times now and checked the AerLingus website and found this;

    It was the "Aer Lingus in conjunction with code-share partner United Airlines jointly operate scheduled service between Washington Dulles and Madrid, Spain." that caught my eye.

    Hope this helps.

      Seems to be operated by A332s EI-DAA and EI-DUO.

        Aer Lingus and United Airlines have had a relationship on select long haul services between Europe and North America since 2009. This MAD-IAD-MAD route exists since 2009. Here is a interesting comments from Kleiner at airliners.net:

        "Very creative! UA has figured out how to expand without new metal and 50% risk! In turn, EI gets advertising, product sampling and 50%. This is the result of pooling assets, determining goals, and making it happen" http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo....main/4291575/

        Ryanair are Irish also and they have routes in every EU country and beyond (Morocco and they are talking about Israel in the near future).
