  • If you want to use adsbScope and the FR24 Feeder software, you should make the "Server (decoded data) active" in adsbScope, see attached.

    Port 30003 Active.jpg

    • thanks again Oblivian..........
running JUST rtl1090beta and clicking on the http://localhost:30003 link in your reply brought up a webpage of listed numbers just like the display in the rtl program "list" mode. So I take it my output server is active on port 3003, correct?

      data displayed looks like this:
      AIR,,111,11111,A35635,111111,2013/07/25,10:48:15.000,2013/07/25,10:48:15.000

Baby steps I guess, but hope is if I can show the set up works I will invest in an outdoor antenna. Not so much the cost of the antenna but the "discussion" with my better half as to why I have a hole in the wall and wires across her floor.....

When I try the decoded data active button or menu I get an error message. While the raw data client active will function showing both list of data and occaisional plotted aircraft.failedScopeshare.jpg

        • Remove the port 30003 option in RTL1090.

          • And this is the perfect example of why I suggested going straight back to setup and looking at the port linkedoutputs bit by bit.. One of your apps has been setup with the wrong port details, already outputting data on 30003, which is now conflicting when the adsbscope server attempts to output data too, causing an error

I'm not entirely sure that output is in AVR format that the feeder will understand either...

              Brief change-set:
              1) Improved AC count stats to reflect actual number of tracked aircraft as well as average number of sent over the last 5 packets
              2) Feeding loop changes preventing possible dead lock
              3) Misc fixes

              Thanks,

Didn't know a new version exists. Using now...

              • seem to have it now, thanks to Oblivian and FR24support. Able to use either rtl1090 or the adsb# and toggle on both decoded data share and raw display on adsbScope. Also the Feeder software connects. In fact had two aircraft spotted long enough that triggered the premium service. Guess I can now try to get a better antenna............

                  • Nope. The beta is fine. As it will eventually be the replacement to 232

                    • i have just started feeding data to flightradar using a rtl 2832u/r820t dongle,rtl1090 on a windows 7 machine, the notification icon is showing a green arrow in and a yellow arrow out is my data being sent

                      • Its a good indication of it yes. But the only way to be sure is open the feeder and ensure it says AC:[02] or more.

                        • Radar Transitioning Observation

I am using the beta feed software for windows.

I have observed when a flight transitions from one radar to the next one on the FR24 map, the flight details list an airspeed of 0.

On the next 5 second interval the airspeed corrects. I would assume the preceding radar had already reached LOS and the display on the map was just using the "continuation for User experience" to anticipate where it should appear next but somehow loses the previous airspeed.

There has been no discussion on accuracy of time-stamping. I am using an NTP program that corrects my system clock every 10 seconds.
The new FR24 receivers access GPS time where as legacy systems need something better than the once a month system time correction built-in Microsoft operating systems.

If the feeder server looks at inaccurate time stamps from feed uploads from two or more tracking systems it may face a quandary as to which is the newest data.

                          "Food for thought"
