    Malaga Airport New Runway

    Does anyone know when Malaga's new runway opens? Heard on another forum it was today but not sure.

    It opens on May 3rd.

      That was for ATC and other airport staff training purposes. The runway officially opened yesterday, 27th June.

        I thought it was the 26th? Thats what i read yesterday anyway. Anyway glad its open should do really well for the airport.

          My mistake. 26th it was.

          Not convinced they are going to need it for a few years. Their runway occupancy rate on the single runway wasn't exactly spectacular. Seems it's only going to be used as required until traffic rates increase quite a lot. Then it will be used full time.
