              This is as close as i get with a Canon 50x zoom bridge camera. Planes at approximately 35000 feet.
              First pic is Air France.
              Second pic is Easyjet.

                          • @mickey93 – very nice images and I have a similar setup to you as well.
                            With your telescope having a focal length of 1250mm the magnification is excellent with just the camera attached and that’s without any lenses. When fitting the Powermate x 2 you then achieve a staggering focal length of 2500mm.
                            From my experience so far, I set my camera to TV, shutter speed 1/500 with an ISO of 100. It’s then a question of following the aircraft taking pictures with a steady hand as there isn’t any image stabilising functionally. I find that when the aircraft is in a certain position your able to keep track of the aircraft a lot easier. Looking at your images you must be in a very good position.
                            Quite often when I think I’ve taken a good photo it’s out of focus when I review it on my PC, hence I am still trying to master the technique. Not forgetting that these aircraft are often at 35,000ft and travelling at high speed, so the window of opportunity to get it right is narrow to say the least.
