Good morning and please forgive me if I should not reply to this thread, well not in here anyway, but with reference to your post above, well I joined Flightradar24 Forum as a discussion forum and everything to do with flightradar24, If I had wanted to join Twitter and "tweet" as they call it well I would have done so. Why cant the Sqawks be put on this forum ? After all that is what a forum is all about, to discuss different matters concerning a hobby or particular theme. By all means put it on Twitter or even that other awful place facebook ,but at least put it on the ordinary forum first.

I also agree with you concerning Facebook , I will not tusch it, its too much
or me being an old goat

Twitter can be followed by anyone and you don't need to have an account. If you signup an account there are several software that you can use to follow FR24 Twitter to get alerts sent to you or your phone automatically. I don't think there is a need of "reinventing the wheel" when you already have a great alert service like Twitter. Vbulletin (this forum software) is not built to distribute alerts, apart from plugins that post on Twitter, and we are doing that already.

Apart from that, the "tweets" are shown directly on Flightradar24.com.

Yes well part of the problem for me anyway,is that I do not understand it !
I am an old enthusiast that has been in the hobby for over 40 years and true enough I have not kept up with the modernisation of the hobby, I am so glad to have joined a forum like this because beleive it or not I AM learning quite a bit, but when you get to my age, sadly things take a little longer to "sink in" and even more so if you are not a technical person to start with. I mean look at the problem I had with that Airnav radar box highlighted in another thread on here. If I had been a youngster who was brought up with these machines, and programmes I might not have had the problems.
So this "Twitter business , I do not understand it. Remember when I started in the hobby, computers were very few and far between, in fact they were nearly non existent for the private user, I mean we never had anything to do Sqawk codes or radar, that was all left to the Air Traffic Control and flight crews, we were just enthusiasts or spotters and all we had were notebooks ,radios (if you could afford one) and like me a pair of world war two army binoculars with no zoom, no night vision etc etc.

Perhaps I should think about Bowing out gracefully and calling it a day in the hobby....the thing is I am damned if I will ! If I annoy people by being so old fashioned ...tough, I still enjoy the hobby and I enjoy Flightradar24, so people are going to have to put up with me being old fashioned.

I am going to get off my "soapbox now.

        Bill.

and what is normal and everyday to some of us

Hello Ulf, well mate I like to speak my mind and tell the truth, it has got me into trouble occasionally, but if people cannot stand being told the true facts of something well that is their problem "aint it".

But yes sorry I dont understands this twitter thing, the only thing I know that tweeted was our canary so to speak.
But I will "hang in there" mate, and if it gets too much at one time, well there is always the on off button.

            Bill
