  • Lack of USA coverage

    Hi All,

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I couldn't find the thread, as I'm new here. Can anyone please tell me why coverage in Europe is nearly 100 percent, while in the in the USA it's virtually nill? I thought the USA was the leader in this sort of thing. Has it not caught on there, or are there legal restrictions?

    Many thanks,

    Tim

    Welcome to the forum Tim.

FlightRadar24 started in Europe and is adding new locations on a regular basis.
New radars added recently include New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan and many more.

Eventually most major airports in the world should have coverage.

There are no legal restrictions that i am aware of.

      Thanks Mike for the clarification

Thanks Mike. I know there are restrictions on voice transmission reception in most countries, but I've never heard of a prosecution. I've never heard of anyone being arrested for trainspotting either!

By the way, the maps match the airplane icons on the map almost to the T.

      Cheers

      Tim

            Hi Tim.

I think Ulf asked the which airport you are near, to see if you are getting good aircraft coverage from FlightRadar24.

If you are not, would be interested in setting up a Radar for your area.
