Qatar Airways sees Dreamliner on track, eyes fresh Airbus order

Qatar Airways, the Gulf state’s flag carrier, has received specific dates for the delivery of its much-delayed Boeing 787 order and is on track to receive the Dreamliner ahead of schedule.
The airline, which sees its fleet size growing to 120 aircraft over the next two years, is also in talks with Airbus to purchase additional A380s, CEO Akbar Al Baker said Monday.

Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 awarded FAA ETOPS approval
Rolls-Royce's Trent 1000 turbofan has been awarded 330min extended twin engine operations approval by the US Federal Aviation Administration.
The engine is the lead powerplant for the Boeing 787 twinjet, due to enter service with All Nippon Airways (ANA) in the third quarter.

Royal Jordanian B787 delivery delayed again 10. Mai 2011
Amman-based Royal Jordanian Airlines has said that it will receive its first of 11 Boeing B787s in 2014, almost four years after it initially intended. The carrier will receive its first three B787-8 aircraft in 2014, followed by the remaining eight in 2016 and 2017. Previously, the airline anticipated receiving its first B787 in August 2013.

Boeing sees Dreamliner Autumn delivery
Boeing narrowed its target date for delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner today as it announced plans to run mock commercial flights with the first customer, Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways.
Boeing, which most recently targeted first delivery in the third quarter, said in a statement it planned to deliver the first plane between August and September.

Boeing & ANA To Conduct 787 Service Readiness Validation In Japan
KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- Boeing and All Nippon Airways (ANA) on Thursday announced how the two companies will work together to help prove the 787 Dreamliner's service readiness to enter commercial service.
Using the second flight test aircraft, known as ZA002, they will simulate in-service operations across several airports in Japan in July, said Boeing.

First ANA crews complete 787 pilot training
Boeing said that the first 10 All Nippon Airways pilots have completed training to fly the 787. It said flight test aircraft ZA001 was used to conduct two base training flights May 25 with Boeing instructor pilots and ANA pilots on board. Each ANA pilot performed approaches at Grant County International in Moses Lake, Wash. (ATW Daily News, April 26). “These initial crews to go through training are ANA's senior training pilots and check airmen and will conduct both simulator and airplane line training for ANA in Japan,” Boeing said in a statement.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. The $750 million South Carolina plant where Boeing will assemble 787 jetliners was dedicated Friday with little mention of a National Labor Relations Board complaint challenging construction of the largest single industrial investment in state history.
But the lawsuit, which gets its first airing in a Seattle courtroom next week, was the undercurrent as officials and hundreds of plant workers gathered in stifling heat outside the blue and white assembly building the size of 11 football fields.

Dreamliner set for Narita Airport launch

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has confirmed it will operate the first passenger flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Narita International Airport in Tokyo.
Delivery of the aircraft is due in September, with ANA expecting to operate the flight, bound for Hong Kong, approximant one month later.
The Narita-Hong Kong maiden flight will be available to any customer who applies for the special package tour departing Tokyo which ANA is arranging.

ANA's 787 features a multi-functioned bidet (SATURDAY !!!!)
All Nippon Airways and the Boeing Co. will give journalists a sneak peak on Saturday at the first 787 that will enter service as early as October.
On Thursday, ANA noted on Facebook one of the special features of its 787: a multi-functioned bidet.
