Boeing and Turkish Airlines (THY) have announced the Istanbul-based carrier has exercised options for 15 Next-Generation 737s. The order, comprised of 10 737-800s and 5 737-900ERs, has an average list-price value of more than $1.2 billion.

Rolls-Royce wins Norwegian Dreamliner deal

Rolls-Royce Group plc has won an order from Norwegian for Trent 1000 engines to power nine Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, its first from the airline.
Norwegian has also signed a $450m Rolls-Royce TotalCare long-term engine services contract.
Dan Pedley, Rolls-Royce vice president, Customer Business - Europe, said, 'This order begins what I firmly believe will be a very strong partnership between Rolls-Royce and Norwegian.'
The Norwegian Boeing 787 Dreamliners will enter service in late 2012 or early 2013.
The order takes the total number of airlines that have selected the Trent 1000 to 21. The engine was specifically designed and optimised for the Dreamliner and Rolls said it has been chosen for six of the last seven engine selections.

NAIROBI, April 14 (Reuters) - Kenya Airways (KQNA.NR) has signed a deal for the purchase of nine 787-8 Dreamliner planes with Boeing Co. (BA.N) to replace its ageing fleet and expand routes and flight frequencies, it said on Thursday.
The airline, partly owned by Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA), had been mulling the purchase of A330 planes from Airbus (EAD.PA), after the delivery of the Dreamliners, as per an earlier deal signed in 2006, was delayed from October 2010

Garuda Indonesia expands Airbus 330-200 fleet

State-owned flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia have increased the number of Airbus 330-200s in their fleet by one with the arrival an airplane of the series from its manufacturer in Toulouse, France, at Soekarno Hatta Airport on Saturday.
Garuda Indonesia will purchase eleven airplanes this year, including nine Boeing 737-800 NGs and Airbus 330. A Boeing 737-800 NG arrived in January.
Emirsyah added that the arrival of the plane was part of the flag carrier's program to strengthen their fleet to better serve passengers.

S.A.T., the holding of the Berlin-based German carrier Germania, has taken delivery of its first of five directly purchased A319s. The order is part of the airline’s fleet rollover to eco-efficient Airbus A319s, which is planned to be completed by the end of 2013. The carrier will fly the A319s to their 30 destinations in Germany, Europe, around the Mediterranean region and the Middle East.

Cathay Pacific Airways says it’s adding 27 new jets to its fleet, including 17 from Airbus and 10 from Boeing. Hong Kong’s biggest airline says it has signed deals to buy 15 Airbus A330-300 airplanes and 10 Boeing 777-300ER jets.
