    Rolls-Royce wins Norwegian Dreamliner deal

    Hi

Rolls-Royce Group plc has won an order from Norwegian for Trent 1000 engines to power nine Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, its first from the airline.

Norwegian has also signed a $450m Rolls-Royce TotalCare long-term engine services contract.

Dan Pedley, Rolls-Royce vice president, Customer Business - Europe, said, 'This order begins what I firmly believe will be a very strong partnership between Rolls-Royce and Norwegian.'

The Norwegian Boeing 787 Dreamliners will enter service in late 2012 or early 2013.

The order takes the total number of airlines that have selected the Trent 1000 to 21. The engine was specifically designed and optimised for the Dreamliner and Rolls said it has been chosen for six of the last seven engine selections.
