    NAIROBI, April 14 (Reuters) - Kenya Airways (KQNA.NR) has signed a deal for the purchase of nine 787-8 Dreamliner planes with Boeing Co. (BA.N) to replace its ageing fleet and expand routes and flight frequencies, it said on Thursday.

    The airline, partly owned by Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA), had been mulling the purchase of A330 planes from Airbus (EAD.PA), after the delivery of the Dreamliners, as per an earlier deal signed in 2006, was delayed from October 2010

    Garuda Indonesia expands Airbus 330-200 fleet

    Hi

    State-owned flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia have increased the number of Airbus 330-200s in their fleet by one with the arrival an airplane of the series from its manufacturer in Toulouse, France, at Soekarno Hatta Airport on Saturday.
    Garuda Indonesia will purchase eleven airplanes this year, including nine Boeing 737-800 NGs and Airbus 330. A Boeing 737-800 NG arrived in January.
    Emirsyah added that the arrival of the plane was part of the flag carrier's program to strengthen their fleet to better serve passengers.

    Germania takes delivery of the first new Airbus A319

    Berlin-based Airline starts fleet-renewal
    S.A.T., the holding of the Berlin-based German carrier Germania, has taken delivery of its first of five directly purchased A319s. The order is part of the airline’s fleet rollover to eco-efficient Airbus A319s, which is planned to be completed by the end of 2013. The carrier will fly the A319s to their 30 destinations in Germany, Europe, around the Mediterranean region and the Middle East.

    HK's Cathay adds 27 Boeing, Airbus jets to fleet

    Cathay Pacific Airways says it’s adding 27 new jets to its fleet, including 17 from Airbus and 10 from Boeing. Hong Kong’s biggest airline says it has signed deals to buy 15 Airbus A330-300 airplanes and 10 Boeing 777-300ER jets.

    Yemenia Airways receives their first A320 aircraft.

    The aircraft is the first from an order for 10 A320 Family aircraft placed in January 2010, and is equipped with IAE engines and is configured in two classes (12 business and 138 economy seats) and will be deployed on regional and international services to Gulf States, Middle East, Africa, India and Southern European destinations, to help to stimulate economic growth in Yemen.

    Boeing signs new ten year extension contract with DB Schenker Logistics

    Hi

    Aircraft manufacturer Boeing has signed a new ten year contract extension with DB Schenker to manage its 3PL parts distribution centre at London Heathrow. The contract involves managing the distribution of parts for all Boeing aircraft types and sizes from B717 through to B747 and soon will include the B787.

    Korean Air to spend US$1.58 billion on passenger jets

    SEOUL - SOUTH Korea's flag carrier Korean Air on Tuesday said it would buy a total of seven passenger planes from Airbus and Boeing for nearly US$1.58 billion (S$1.94 billion).
    The airline said the planes - five Airbus A330-200s and two Boeing B777-300ERs - would be bought between May 2011 and September 2015.
