Maximum range does not show on polar plot

Apparently today's maximum range was 307NMi.
The polar plot shows a max of 288 (south) all other directions are less.

    any ideas?

The polar plot requires more consistent range in that direction.

The maximum range overall seems to be less stringent.

    thank you, wiedehopf!
Do I understand correctly that the polar plot shows the range (in each direction) within which you can consistently get hits, and the max range may include the odd hit, which could e.g. be a result of random stratospheric propagation?

    That's just my guess.

But it's consistent with looking at the stats.
