  • Tambler Airport coverage has gone.

For over 5 years there was always coverage at Tambler Philippines, from Ground level up, starting the last 8 weeks before Christmas it has gone, and all flights to and from RPMR now only show above 10/12,000 Ft. Anyone know why?

    Perhaps ask the regional guys.

FR24s official stance will be to direct you to the FAQ that states feeders are voluntary and may disappear from time to time out of their control.

One of the great limitations of flight trackers like FR24 is that they depend upon volunteers to operate and mostly supply the equipment. Works well in densely populated areas where there are multiple feeders but can fall down badly where there is a single feeder covering a particular airport. People stop feeding for many reasons eg tired of the hobby, relocation for work, equipment faults etc and someone like yourself who has grown used to seeing planes land and take off at that airport suddenly have degraded coverage. Of course if you also live in the vicinity you could put up a new feeder yourself but you may well be located a long way from that airport, even in another country.

Not much can be done but it is not unknown for feeders to return, sometimes a year or so from when they went down.
