            what about

            cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtl18xxxu.conf

Possibly the cause of the "ERROR: rmmod: ERROR: Module dvb_usb_rtl28xxu is not currently loaded" error. However we don't want it to be. And it appears to be running fine, but not receiving anything (signal or similar)

If above doesn't find anything either

            sudo su -
            echo "blacklist r820t" >> /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf
            echo "blacklist rtl2832" >> /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf
            echo "blacklist rtl2830" >> /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf
            echo "blacklist dvb_usb_rtl28xxu" >> /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf
            echo "blacklist dvb_usb_v2" >> /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf
            exit

            restart

            Recheck logs

Someone will need to confirm the startup logs of a working unit that
2019-01-19 06:33:39 | ERROR: rmmod: ERROR: Module dvb_usb_rtl28xxu is not currently loaded

is normal. Mine is tasked for something else at present.

However all appears good. It's not force restarting the feeder.
The Pings just indicate theres no signal/aircraft to upload.

Thank you again. i will see how it goes. As I mentioned, we are under the flight path for Brisbane. We should have several aircraft flying overhead over the next hour or so.

That looks good so far. Can you use cat instead of tail so more of the log is visible?

You can add these two lines to /etc/fr24feed.ini

                      use-http=yes
                      http-timeout=10

This fixes some intermittent upload problems that occured recently.

@PeterWelly you can also add those two lines they improve uploading.
But i get the impression your antenna is not working correctly so while the dongle is working fine there is just nothing to receive.

                          @PeterWelly
Which antenna, coax & connectors you use?
Check for bad connections like loose connectors, rusting, moisture ingress etc.

The Antenna is just the small mag base one that came with the tuner. It is located on the roof with the no extension leads etc. Ant and tuner are both only 2 weeks old so connections are good.
