  • Unusual flight - Montreal, Canada

I recently saw two unusual flights -
ROU2388, 7 November 2018, departed YUL at 18h15, flew north approx 190 nm, turned south to YMX, did two touch-and-go, landed, took off, flew to nearby YUL, landed, took off, looped back, landed, went straight to hanger (YUL).
RV2388, 3 November 2018, departed YUL, flew north approx 230 (?) nm, turned south, flew to YUL and landed.
Both cases, same aircraft, C-GEOQ, Air Canada Rouge, 767-375(ER) - regularly flies commercial routes.

I am curious as to the purpose of such flights.

Still curious - but no suggestion.
So, here is my unqualified speculation.
Training flight - not likely given operating expense for such non-revenue flights versus simulators.
Certification flight - maybe, still expensive.

    Any ideas ??

Everything about the flight on the 7th says training. Maybe some issue with simulator availability? Give them a call.
