Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed certain flights showing up on an aircraft's flight history page (Example: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n766an ) that operated on other aircraft. For example, N822NW (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n822nw ) shows that it operated DL30 (ATL-LHR) on April 18th that diverted back to ATL and is currently operating the replacement flight as well. However, N806NW (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n806nw ) operated the flight that diverted back to ATL even though it is not listed. The page showing aircraft on the ground in Atlanta (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airports/atl/ground) displays N806NW as arriving at 6:43 PM on April 18th even thought the aircraft's past flight page does not show the flight (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n806nw ). This page shows the last flight took place on the April 17th and landed in ATL at 8:08PM. Below I listed links to FlightAware and PlaneFinder showing the diverted flight and replacement flight operated by different aircraft for reference.
This also happened between N766AN and N777AN back on March 8th.One person commenting on the Aviation Herald (http://avherald.com/h?article=4b5d4dc9&opt=0 ) about which aircraft diverted misidentified the correct plane that diverted.
Hope I explained the issue well enough to understand.
