Apart from the small footprint, I can't imagine it would be cheaper or outperform a 1090 MHz DVB-T device such as a Pro Stick.

Prices are between 280 and 350 Euros. Very expensive compared to my Pro Sticks.

open speaking you can not compare the Pro Sticks with Radarcape or SBS -1/3
So if you think that that your Pro Sticks are performing as good as a Radarcape please
explain how you have done the test.
For my background I am developer and I have developed different HF receiver
Pro Stick is performing good but can not reach the performance of a cape or SBS
Sorry...If you think you are right I invite you to visit my company and I will show you valid comparing between different ADS-B receiver
We have our own ADS-B generator and we can test very precise

All I'm interested in are aircraft within the range of the connected antenna. Does it receive all the available messages?
I've had a Mode-S receiver since 2005. Since then I've used nearly every specialist Mode-S receiver, vanilla SDR "dongles" and those badged as ADS-B specific, such as the Pro Sticks and AirNav's new FlightStick. I've also used numerous antennae, cable, pre-amps and splitters. Inside, on windows and rooftops.
Pound for Pound, Dollar for Dollar or Euro for Euro, these "sticks" are a game changer. That's why FlightAware, FR24, Planefinder and now AirNav see them as the receiver of choice. My conservative estimate is over 90% of the shared data is being uploaded from low-cost SDRs.
When it comes to tracking aircraft, I can confidently repeat "my Pro Sticks perform as well as my Radarcape and SBS-1/3 receivers".
I see the same number of aircraft displayed on application software maps and aircraft lists when using low-cost ProSticks and FlightSticks. The same number and in the same positions as those tracked by my SBS-1/3, Puck and Radarcape receivers.
Don't you? Or are you more interested in seeing fancy signal diagrams instead of aircraft?
I use my car for journeys. Not to keep in a garage attached to engine performance equipment, like Volkswagen and other car manufacturers.
