    That clearly says the reason

    usb_claim_interface error -6

You need to follow the blacklist process. Or ensure all other instances of dump1090 have not crashed and hanging the USB port open.

    usb_claim_interface error -6
Error opening the RTLSDR device: Device or resource busy[/code]

USB device in use or blacklisted
    - Follow RPi RTL blacklist How-to guide here
    - Close other instances of Dump1090/RTL1090 or check task manager for running instance
    - Configure other software for Network data (remove exclusive USB need)

Check for crashed/running instances causing port or start issues:
    - Following command will report a PID for each process
    pgrep -l fr24feed - list running FR24 processes
    pgrep -l dump1090 - list dump1090 instances

sudo kill -9 <pid> - replace <pid> with corresponding number from above to kill process

This is nearly out of my league as you can probably tell....Addedd those Files to the Blacklist.

      pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cd /etc/modprobe.d
      pi@raspberrypi:/etc/modprobe.d $ sudo nano no-rtl.conf
      pi@raspberrypi:/etc/modprobe.d $ pgrep -l fr24feed
      958 fr24feed
      pi@raspberrypi:/etc/modprobe.d $ pgrep -l dump1090
      977 dump1090
      pi@raspberrypi:/etc/modprobe.d $

ONly one FR24 and one Dump1090 running.
      sudo kill -9 <pid> - replace <pid> - So i put 977 in the middle,..then it gives me errors!

      What now?

        The other option is

        sudo service fr24feed stop

and restart the Pi to a clean start

This means it won't start as soon as you boot up (service). And then start it sudo fr24feed start

Again and make sure error is gone

        sudo kill -9 977
        sudo kill -9 958

would be the command to run

        pi@raspberrypi ~ $ pgrep -l fr24feed
        1991 fr24feed
        pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo kill -9 1991

Wont go online, until data is received/sent.

            However

            Found 1 device(s):
            0: Generic, RTL2832U, SN: 77771111153705700 (currently selected)

            Good

            No supported tuner found
Enabled direct sampling mode, input 1
            Max available gain is: 0.00
            Setting gain to: 0.00

            Bad. Very bad.

Exact sample rate is: 2000000.052982 Hz
            Gain reported by device: 0.00

That should report E4000/T820 Tuner found And comes back to my inital concerns that the tuner is not recognised correctly, or has the wrong type of internals.

Both chips on board need to be good, not just the core one (RTL2832)

            Correct stick output:

            Found Rafael Micro R820T tuner
            Max available gain is: 49.60
            Setting gain to: 49.60
Exact sample rate is: 2000000.052982 Hz

OK. So after followig all your instructions, it turns out the USB Tuner I got from Jetvision (Recommeneded by FR24) isn't working properly.
Do you have a place where I can get anyother USB Stick from this? I see you are based in NZ...anywhere around Aus or NZ that sells the CORRECT ones?

They are fairly good to deal with. Get in contact, you may find they turn around and offer to replace it if found that the tuner is faulty.

Not sure if theirs are customised or not, but your basic one off ebay should suffice for basic use. You have to goto the likes of a flightaware pro stick if you want a 'tweaked' one.

Luck of the draw however, as seen some of them print they are RTL2832+802T on the sale only to find their latest batch from the factory isn't really.

And also make sure you have the correct Zadig drivers installed, and 2 devices show. Just incase you have the drivers for the chip but not the tuner loaded.

That can also lead to a not found.zadig.JPG
