  • RTL 1090 & Planeplotter output differences?

Running dump1090 for windows and RTL 1090 with planeplotter, there seems to be a little disparity over what Dump and RTL are receiving and what planeplotter is displaying. The example being the image below.

    Untitled.jpg

Planeplotter displaying 5 aircraft, and RTL1090 receiving 8.

Is this normal, or am i missing something? This seemed to continue for a good 30 min or so.

All of the above have their own quality filtering. And hold onto aircraft in the list/onscreen for a set amount of time after signal loss incase it resumes.

There is no real true method other than disabling all predictions and 'drop after' settings

ok thanks, so it's down to filtering. I had a feeling it may be this or something to do with the quality of the signal being received.
