    Gulf Air launches Copenhagen, Nairobi routes

    Hi

    Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, will start flying to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark from July 1 and Nairobi, the capital of Kenya from July 5 with four flights per week.

    DUBAI: Over six million travellers passed through Dubai International Airport during the first quarter of 2011 registering an increase of 197,416 Departures and Arrivals compared to the same period in 2010.

    Emirates’ Airbus A380 arrives in Shanghai

    Hi

    Shanghai welcomed its first scheduled Airbus A380 service, when Emirates flight EK302 from Dubai arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Shanghai has became the third destination in China for Emirates’ A380, following on from the launch of services to Beijing and Hong Kong in 2010

    The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the set up of a Flight Data and Cockpit Voice Recorders (FDR and CVR or black boxes and flight recorders) Laboratory in its Abu Dhabi Headquarter.

    On May 3, 1976, the first Lufthansa flight touched down at Dubai International Airport, linking the Emirati city with Lufthansa's impressive global route network. Lufthansa added flights to Abu Dhabi in November of the same year. Today, Lufthansa serves the United Arab Emirates 21 times a week, with daily services from Frankfurt and Munich to Dubai and a daily flight connecting Frankfurt and Abu Dhabi.

    Qatar Executive to double fleet size by August

    Qatar Airways has announced that its corporate jet division will double the size of its fleet by the end of August.
    Qatar Executive will add three new Bombardier aircraft to its fleet starting from later this month to make a fleet of six planes, the company said in a statement.
