  • Noob help requested for Raspberry PI

    Hi folks,

I have a Raspberry PI that is connected to a NooElec R820T2SDR&DVB-T Nesdr Mini 2

The good news, I get to track some aircraft in my house near Heathrow, London.

Bad news, my PI seems to go Offline after a shortwhile for no apparent reason. I've tried all the self-help I can think of and reinstalled the FR24 software etc. etc.

Any clues on my next step? Thanks all.

PS. I am not a massive techie but once did Unix admin 30 years ago.

Strangely things seem to be running although I appear offline:

    pi@raspberrypi:~ $ service fr24feed status
    ● fr24feed.service - LSB: Flightradar24 Decoder & Feeder
    Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/fr24feed)
Active: active (running) since Mon 2016-05-09 16:45:06 UTC; 27min ago
    Process: 886 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/fr24feed stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
    Process: 979 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/fr24feed start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
    CGroup: /system.slice/fr24feed.service
    └─999 /usr/bin/fr24feed -- --monitor-file=/dev/shm/fr24feed.txt --...

Is your power supply good enough?

Sadly that wasn't it but it can't have hurt

I also am experiencing the same issues, when I first installed it, it went all night till about 07:00 UTC the next day, and yesterday it was activated at 1900 and stopped at 2300. I don't think it is a power issue as I can feed elsewhere without interruption.

Running the status says everything is working ok, and only a pi reboot solves the issue.
