  • Jet seemingly took off from the Mediterranean Sea

Does anybody know how did this jet take off from the Mediterranean Sea, or is it just a mistake?

Private jet with no callsign to pair a source/dest. So if it come from an area without cover, ie the ocean it has nothing to complete to know if the started track that was earlier shown was during the same leg

Also note the track colour, if it had just taken off the track would start as white and change through yellow green and blue before turning purple, (unless the plane somehow found an airfield several thousand feet above the ocean to depart from!)
All you are seeing is a plane that has just come into coverage, this will always be the case until satellite coverage becomes the norm.

Hopefully soon, PlanePlotter are already using satellite feeds and have details on the forum on setting up a feed.
