        3) Use multiple cable ties or hose clamp in place of black tie wire I have used. This will hold the radials more firmly in place against the outdoor winds.

        After above modifications, the antenna can be used outdoors also.

            I live in an apartment with no balconies. No way to test it outdoors. If you have facility to install outdoors, you may give it a try after applying silicone caulk or similar sealant over the area where radials are inserted into coax. The antenna then may sustain outdoor condition for months.

                Can you open your windows - and mount it outside ?

                  In the diagram below, the design (A) is the one shown in photos of first post above.

                  Now try the variant (B) in diagram below. If you are going to use it outdoors, apply silicone seallant/caulk/hot melt glue on the area where radials are inserted into coax, to protect from rain/moisture/snow.
