Directional antenna

Hi

Anyone using directional antenna and what are your results (milage)?
I probably take this: http://www.wsplc.com/acatalog/RADAR-...dBi_gain_.html
or then if I could find a real yagi - that would be nice.
Planning to use preamp etc to get max signal in - just targetting one direction.

From what I've read over the last 7 years, these directional beam antennas aren't worth buying.

I get 250nm range with a standard external antenna and I can't see a directional antenna getting any more range or contacts.
