I have the one abcd567 mentions works ok. Have modified the antenna to 52mms long and sat it on a old metal biscuit tin. Works ok for me. Thanks for all the help from this forum.

The dongle you have linked looks ok, but it specifies only one chip, and says nothing about the other chip.

The dongle must have following chips:

RTL2832U + R820T2 (or R820T or R860T)

Do NOT purchase the dongle you liknked, as its seller specifies only RTL2832U and does not say anythig in writing about the second chip, but in photo it is mentioned on blue case as R828D. Purchase only that one for which seller clearly specifies both the chips which I have noted above

Also do NOT purchase one in which seller mentions Fitipower FC0012 or FC0013

Do you have suggestions for a basic and cheap setup?
I wanted to start with the one suggested on the FR24 site, but I don't know what might be the correct "ADS-B USB dongle with antenna". Do you have any suggestions?
Something like this could do?
