  • Adsb/AIS dual receiver one RPi4b possible?

    Hi guys n girls,

I am looking for some advice.. I have a couple of ais stations and being new to adsb I've went and bought another raspberry pi4b 8gb to run the adsb

One AIS is A Easyais RaspiAis Receiver which is built into a pi 3b like a hat , the other is an rx carbon receiver with an NMEA adapter to usb connected to another pi.

The adsb is a dongle connected to the pi 8gb so I have 3 pis total, I read a comment from an informative and knowledgeable individual on the forum who stated its possible to run ADSB and AIS on the same device? Really?.

I would be really grateful if anyone could help me do this as I've tried before and have had clashes with http Web server and serial/usb tty.

    Thanks in advance

If ais doesnt need an addon but can tune a sdr stick using a package, and selectively pick which one, maybe.

When you launch dump1090, you can select the stick by ID. 2 sticks, pick the 2nd. Ais, pick the first.

Command line of this seems to indicate it supports devide ID selection

The AIS stuff probably hogs the lighttpd config .... or something like that.

This is a way to set up ADS-B that should work with most other stuff on the pi: https://github.com/wiedehopf/adsb-wi...ADS-B-receiver

If AIS uses an rtl-sdr compatible SDR as well your best bet is to serialize them.

If it doesn't work together with the guide above ... you'll just need support again.
Some hints on serializing SDRs: https://github.com/wiedehopf/adsb-wi...th-UAT-traffic

        Hey,

Thanks for the replies. Yes I understand the AIS is not rtl-sdr they are GPIO hat on rpi3 so I guess I will just have to make do with the current setup unless I can serialize the receiver and the fa pro stick.

The link i posted uses the same dvb-t hardware, not one of your devices..

          Ala stick 1. Adsb
          Stick 2,.ais
