I´ll try moving the antenna to the north face, it will be about 10 ft from the tv antenna so I can run another test.
Apart that, the one thing was changed is the power outlet from another circuit breaker. But it´s hardly the problem. Just thinking outside the box rsrs. Just in case, I´ll try with an extension cord tomorrow.1090.jpg880.jpg

Somehow you uploaded a very small version.
No matter, it looks very much like interference is the problem indeed.
Let's try this:
dump1090-fa-gain 29.7
This will reduce the gain, maybe you'll receive at least a few aircraft that way.
In regards to filters, you have a couple of options.
There are filters by FA, those might work (the dark blue is better than the light blue filter).
You can try your luck with one of the filters on ebay:
The first 2 above would require a male to male SMA adapter to connect them.
I have no experience in regards to the quality of these filters, but if they do what they say they do, they should work for you.
You could also get one of the filtered amplifiers https://www.rtl-sdr.com/new-product-...mhz-ads-b-lna/
But that requires a bias-t to supply it with power as well.
And last:
Maybe by mounting the antenna in a different position or moving the RPi you can avoid the interference?
Could you make a photo of where it's mounted on the antenna?
If the FA antenna is mounted above everything else you have better chances of avoiding the interference.Last edited by wiedehopf; 2019-10-02, 21:58.

i had stoped the wrong one.
I did
sudo systemctl stop fr24feed
running it now.
thanks

That error occurs if dump1090-fa is still running.
Did you stop it as instructed?
If you did, maybe the blacklisting isn't working, try this:
Code:echo -e 'blacklist rtl2832\nblacklist dvb_usb_rtl28xxu\nblacklist rtl8192cu\nblacklist rtl8xxxu\n' | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtl-sdr2.conf sudo reboot
sudo systemctl stop dump1090-fa
and then the command to record the spectrum
Looking at the graphs it could indeed be that you have a problem with strong interference.
But the spectrum will show that better.Last edited by wiedehopf; 2019-10-02, 20:33.

Just checked connections of the dongle and the antenna and they are all OK.
I got this screen on graphs

Hmm, it could be that one of the connections is loose?
If you want, you can run a spectrum scan, that should show if it's very strong interference or a loose connection
The space around ADS-B antenna contain not only 1090 MHz signals, but also lot of other signals at different frequencies. The closer the frequency of a signal to 1090 MHz, your ADS-B antenna picks it stronger. For example if there are three signals of equal strength, one at 144 MHz, 2nd at 850 MHz and 3rd at 950 MHz, the ADS-B
(The TV antenna itself should not be a problem, but if there is a bad amplifier or something else there, it could be interference.)Last edited by wiedehopf; 2019-10-02, 19:19.

Captain wiedehopf
graphs working now. In blank but working.
nothing on tar1090.
I'll leave a few minutes and will check it back soon.
So far, thanks a lot!

The log for that:
sudo journalctl --no-pager -u dump1090-fa
Otherwise the easiest way to check the fr24feed log is actually:
sudo systemctl stop fr24feed
sudo fr24feed
It will now run on the console and you can see the log.
If you are done, you'll need to stop it and restart the service:
Ctrl-C to interrupt
sudo systemctl restart fr24feed
Obviously this isn't a permanent solution to check the logs, but it might show if the problem appears immediately.
Might be a power supply problem if the dongle stopped working, can you try another power supply?
Is the dongle plugged in directly? You can try another USB port.
Changed ports and the same.
Ill get a new power supply for testing purpose.

Looks good, do you have aircraft on the local map?
As i said if you re-run the graphs install, that should work now as well.

If you get the graphs going as suggested, it'll be much easier to see where the issue is.
Just guessing won't help.
