Do we have to connect radials electrically with the outer wire mesh?

They are pushed between outer insulation and the core insulation, thus they are connected to the coax shield.

abcd567 I had to register to congratulate you on the Quick Spider, I have tested the spider on the terrace and it worked well, it is at a considerable height and without obstacles except for a small blind angle in the NE direction I am using SDRplay Virtual Radar Server and the range depends on the day and the propagation is +/- 350Km. This test helps me decide to buy a commercial antenna, the spider will not withstand the winds and inclement weather in the area.

Thanks again for sharing your designs.
