Yes. More data = more backlog to process data. So will likely be dropping frames to keep up.

OK question is there a likelihood that I am receiving too many packets for the Dongle or Raspberry PI to cope with?

When I get say 1,600 planes seen I get something like 100,000 Positions reported but when that goes up to 2,000 planes seen the positions reported drops to about 60,000.

Present set up outside collinear above the roof line, FlightAware Dongle + filter, Raspberry PI 2B+
