Seems to be triggered by major change in altitude, and takes awhile to appear on the screen. It's easier to detect on approaches and departures.

I didn't see it until recently in this region.

Maybe, it was implemented in other regions earlier on.

This feature has been available globally for about 12 months

It's only available for premium users.

If premium, go options, Layers, Trail tool tips.

Select a plane and hover over data collection points behind it for popup
