What you didn't confirm here, is if you actually tried a different browser (to eliminate a plugin)

    Did you try with firefox/IE..

How about downloading the ISO for Ubuntu desktop http://www.ubuntu.com/download/deskt...desktop-latest

burning the ISO to a DVD

Boot the DVD to 'Try Ubuntu' do not install it - it should not touch the windows installation

It will have a web browser as part of the trial ... that should show if the problem is to do with the PC software or elsewhere.

(PS. I've not tried UBUNTU 13.10 - I'll give this a go too)

And due to this, no matter what Page you use, unless there is a https alias pointer, it won't load the script or api

Doesn't mean his ISP (or government) doesn't block looking at Google maps... Everyone is overlooking the mention even standard google earth pages do not load, unless he uses secure/https which uses a different server port.

The easiest and safest way to enable viewing maps in your browser is to add Google Maps to your list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer. Here's how:

    Click Tools > Internet Options.
    Click the Security tab......
Did everything as it was written still does not help.

The easiest and safest way to enable viewing maps in your browser is to add Google Maps to your list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer. Here's how:

    Click Tools > Internet Options.
    Click the Security tab.
Select the "Trusted sites" icon, and click the Sites button. Deselect the option "Require server verification for all sites in this zone."
In the text field Add this Web site to the zone, type "maps.google.com" (without quotes) and click Add.
Repeat step five to add the following sites: "local.google.com", "www.google.com", and "*.google.com" (all without quotes).
Click OK, then click OK again to save your changes.

If Google Maps loads slowly, here are a few things you can try. Restart your computer and browser: Often, Google Maps will load more quickly after you restart your computer or

Although we don't recommend Internet Explorer, can you try this solution above and if it works you might need to do the same for Chrome.

Something tells me google maps is blocked up the chain, but they don't realise you can get to it on port 443/secure..

(If I understand right, as he says you can goto .ru or .com in secure mode)

And I doubt there is a secure alias setup on the FR24 servers
