  • T-XXXX or F-XXXX

I looked over the FAQ's and couldn't find anything, or I missed it. I have my Alias KCHS1 and under my account it says T-KCHS1
but I also see F-KCHS1, is that my feed or another, is there only 1 KCHS1?? I thought I saw a T-KCHS1 on the list, but it's not there now, if there are two, and someone was before me, should my alias be KCHS2 ??

    Im using FR24feed from a RTL1090/VRS install...

    Thanks, Paul

When you filter and select radar, there is a list of site, I see F-KCHS1, and several T's but my feed isnt listed

F- feeders are VERY fast, and the data often timestamped better via GPS than NTP lookup. The server will use this data as it will appear to be earlier than your own in some cases. THe filter is dynamic, it will only show the current active data being seen at that time.

The Radar is only listed as Filter when it's actually receiving anything. And shows up on the fr24 website.
A page refresh when you are sure your radar is used will make it show up.

The data includes one (or more) Date + Time fields, is that the UTC time the data burst was transmitted from the aircraft and / or the time when the data was added to the database.

                        it also says

                        Aircraft shown on map

I have tried to explain this several times, and I really don't know how to explain this. I will make
another try. Lets assume we have 5 feeders in London. L1 L2 L3 L4 L5.

All 5 feeders sees BAW123 and uploads the aircraft to the server

L1 uploads at 12:34:50 and database is updated with L1 data + L1 radar code.
L2 uploads at 12:34:51 and database is updated with L2 data + L2 radar code.
L3 uploads at 12:34:52 and database is updated with L3 data + L3 radar code.
L4 uploads at 12:34:53 and database is updated with L4 data + L4 radar code.
L5 uploads at 12:34:54 and database is updated with L5 data + L5 radar code.

Does that mean it's the slowest feeder that's shown, not the fastest?

So it seems to me I'm wasting my time feeding, looks like the F-KCHS1 is taking priority, and my T-KCHS1 does not show up at all, and I think I have greater range than the guy using F- I'm seeing aircraft farther then the F- but it looks like F-takes priority...

1: it's never a waste, you can also watch your own traffic via virtual radar server and feeding is only 1 extra program.
2: if you have greater range, those aircraft flying at that range should be picked up then.
3: i have tested a new fr24 receiver and a rtlsdr mini+adsb# at the same time. Both were picking up different signals, but there is no "faster" receiver, especially with ADSB#.
4: extra benefit with T- feeders is that you get ground signals. Like cars driving on the roads on their way to and from the airport. Airport vehicles that is.

And you get premium of course!

Also to add to what Jarod has said, we still need T-XXXX Feeders even if they don't show.

A good example of why, is several days ago four F-XXXX Feeders went offline for a few hours each, two of them where Dublin Feeders, two of them where North West England and if it had not been T-XXXX Feeders the coverage would have been very poor.
So T-XXXX Feeders are very important to Flightradar24.
